We are currently seeking a/an University assistant predoctoral
Open PhD Position (m/f/x) in the field of synthesis of organic chalcogenides in the Bonifazi Group, University of Vienna
Bonifazi in the Faculty of Chemistry is currently seeking a PhD student with research experience in organic chemistry or related disciplines (e.g., To address the need for developing a palette of new non-covalent interactions to be used in self-assembly or functional p-conjugated molecules, this PhD project aims to develop a family of self-assembly modules undergoing chalcogen-bonding-mediated recognition. The project objective is to develop highly selective multipoint recognition motifs that can be used to prepare functional materials, such as liquid crystals and conductive supramolecular polymers. During this PhD, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop cutting-edge synthesis methodologies and apply these to produce compounds for use in classical supramolecular chemistry and organic electronics.

Previous experience with supramolecular chemistry-driven projects and chalcogen bonding.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English (IELTS score = 6.Ability to work independently in your field of expertise and collaborate in a research team.
