Position overview

Join us as an Application Manager - Gelcoats specializing in composite applications. In this pivotal role, you will lead gel coats project development, provide guidance to laboratory personnel, and ensure a seamless transition of new product recipes into mass production. Your responsibilities also encompass product testing, technical support for production, and delivering technical presentations and training.

This position presents an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to make a significant impact in the field of composite materials and contribute to our ongoing innovation and success.

Responsibilities
-Technical leadership in the fields of synthesis and application technology for gelcoats and related composite applications
-Lead for gelcoats project development
-Guide chemists and technicians on laboratory resins cooking and evaluation, process support, instrumental analysis
-Ensure successful transfer of new products recipes to mass production
-Perform laboratory products testing in terms of process and product specifications
-Provide technical assistance to production
-Be involved in technical presentations about allnex products and conduct trainings to customers when needed
-Responsible for the successful up-scaling of products from laboratory to production
-Initiate and implement continuous project optimization/cost methods
-Assist in rework inventory by identifying alternative use in existing products
-Ensure intellectual property is protected and keep track of the IP landscape
-Maintain safe and regulatory compliant laboratory work environment in accordance to Good Laboratory Practice and through proper usage of personal protective equipment (PPE)

Required skills and experience
-PhD in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering
-10 years of relevant technical experience in the area of gelcoats and unsaturated polyester composite applications
-Managerial experience is preferred but not required
-Project management through stage/gate process
-Collaboration and team working
-Good analytical and problem solving skills
-Results oriented personality
-Very good communication skills
-Fluent in English and German (writing and speaking)
