Could you be the full-time Obsolescence Manager in Vienna we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your technical expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll report to Franz Santner, Services Engineering Manager, and work alongside passionate, motivated and flexible teammates.

You'll ensure effective obsolescence planning and strategic lifecycle management. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business to manage the entire product lifecycle. You’ll support Service Obsolescence Management activities at the site.

We’ll look to you for:

Optimize inventory levels and lead efforts to phase out obsolete products in a timely and cost-effective manner
Conduct thorough analyses to identify potential obsolescence risks and recommend proactive measures
Develop and implement strategies to minimize the impact of product obsolescence on Alstom's operations
Facilitate and support the development of obsolescence management plan
Determine obsolescence monitoring strategies for products and projects
Review and validate obsolescence management plans
Review incoming obsolescence alerts from external sources and identify necessary actions
Prepare periodic project obsolescence reports including Performance Indicators
With Sourcing and Supply Chain, develop obsolescence management capability in Suppliers through use of Supplier Charter Audits and Obsolescence Management Plans

Technical education or understanding of Methods Engineering, writing and improving manufacturing and/or maintenance work instructions, line balancing, Lean Manufacturing
IT literate (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
English and German fluency
Experience in working with an ERP (such as SAP) for Bill of Materials, Routings, Configuration follow-up
Working knowledge of Quality and Health & Safety standards and systems
Flexible and Adaptable. Can adapt to new ideas, new issues
Team Player. Supports team members, Spirit of “Team Trust Action”

The minimum salary for this position is € 44.908 EUR gross annually for full-time employment according to the collective bargaining agreement. Overpayment depends on relevant work experience and qualifications.
